The Iranian and the interest rate affairs seem to me to be minor issues. What would happen if there were accountable regulatory bodies devoted to track all the money that senior managers and businessmen move from firms out of the record? How would things change if these bodies carried on an international crusade against tax heavens and against banks devoted to money laundering?
The problem is that, as suggested in a comment above, such kind of bodies can not exist. They only have room in the letter of John Lennon's "Imagine".Luishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04787137817598623072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8764541874043694159.post-19367788020203289882012-08-11T08:41:12.358+01:002012-08-11T08:41:12.358+01:00Americas business is business as they used to say!...Americas business is business as they used to say! So long as people idolise money obsessed money men constant economic collapse is assured. When the regulator is eager to be captured then reckless business models and rampant fraud will follow. All defended as efficient markets by the economics profession.Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00769952853595228563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8764541874043694159.post-70031087565648162512012-08-10T13:44:39.240+01:002012-08-10T13:44:39.240+01:00Can society strive towards pure freedom with more ...Can society strive towards pure freedom with more safety, or do we at least need a small regulatory-state? Often lost in this question is another, more fundamental question:

Can humans even escape anarchy?

Most people, regardless of their ideological preferences, simply assume that the abolition of anarchy is possible, that they live under Government and that anarchy would be nothing but chaos and violence.

http://mises.org/journals/jls/3_2/3_2_3.pdfAlister Cyril Blancnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8764541874043694159.post-47581381898621765272012-08-09T15:40:35.831+01:002012-08-09T15:40:35.831+01:00Good post, Frances.
